I really like the simplicity and comedy implied by your premise - and for me, the rat ending up in the cat's feeding bowl is a fitting ending indeed! The key to this is simply the energy and dynamism of the visual story-telling - so you need to draw well and fill your action scenes with momentum, timing and slapstick. I don't have much to add; your story is a great vehicle for some lovely, comedic entertainment - so I suggest you develop a final script asap, and move very quickly into the storyboarding stage - which is where your story will come alive for its audience. Good! :)
